BEADWORK JEWELLERY

Every Monday morning 10.30am - 12.30pm, every Monday afternoon 1.30pm - 3.30pm & every Friday afternoon 1.30pm - 3.30pm

Come and make stunning and individual pieces of jewellery for both everyday and special occasion wear, plus other wonderful beadwork items both for yourself and to give as gifts. No previous experience is necessary, but you are warned that beading can become extremely addictive! These classes are for the over fifties, are on-going and are £3.50 per class for members, £4.25 for non-members. To join, please telephone first to check the availability of a place.

BEADWORK ONE-DAY OPEN WORKSHOP

A one day workshop Thursday 16th September 2010, 10.00am-4.00pm

Working predominantly with seed beads plus needle and thread, create stunning and unusual pieces of jewellery while exploring a variety of different bead threading and weaving techniques. All are welcome - beginners will quickly learn basic methods and techniques; the more experienced can move on to more challenging designs; those who attended previous courses and workshops may like to take the opportunity to complete unfinished pieces.

SCULPTED COLLAR

A one day workshop Saturday 25th September 2010, 10.00am-4.00pm

A dramatic statement piece worked in peyote stitch in three sizes of seed beads resulting in a radiating ribbed effect and incorporating a few Swarovki crystals to add a little sparkle. The collar is wide at centre front and tapers round the sides to the fastener at centre back. Make it in the colours of your choice.

SOPHISTICATION LARIAT

A one day workshop Saturday 9th October 2010, 10.00am-4.00pm

A lariat length with a simple repeating pattern is worked in seed beads in square stitch with an incorporated embellishment on both edges and fringing on the ends. To fasten the lariat at the front it is looped through two rings also worked in seed beads. Make it in the colours of your choice.

A BEADWORK CHRISTMAS WEEKEND

A two day workshop Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th November 2010, 10.00am-4.00pm both days

The festive season is fast approaching, so come and make some Christmas decorations! Working with predominantly seed beads and just needle and thread select pieces from a huge range that will adorn your tree and your table. There are also a few pieces with which to adorn yourself!

JEWEL CASKET

A one day workshop Saturday 20th November 2010, 10.00am-4.00pm

A tiny casket with the turreted and patterned panels worked in square stitch in seed beads. The panels are embellished both on their sides and turrets with more beads of various sizes and the casket stands on feet of larger beads. Make it in the colours of your choice.

CHRISTMAS NECKLACE & EARRINGS

A one day workshop Saturday 4th December 2010, 10.00am-4.00pm

To wear with your little black dress over Christmas and new Year, a necklace and earring set created from handmade beads, both tubular and spherical made from seed beads and Swarovski crystals, embellished with a cascade of fringing at centre front. Make it in the colours of your choice.

A one day workshop Saturday 14th May 2011, 10.00am-4.00pm

Spend a day working with predominantly tiny seed beads plus needle and thread to create stunning and unusual pieces of jewellery whilst exploring a variety of different bead threading and weaving techniques. Work at your own pace on pieces selected from a huge range of samples. Suitable for all levels of ability.

BEADWORK JEWELLERY: THE FLOWERS & BUTTERFLIES COLLECTION

A four day course Tuesday 2nd - Friday 5th August 2011, 10.00am-4.00pm each day

Spend a few delightful high summer days creating intricate and and delicate two- and three-dimensional flowers and butterflies in beadwork which then combine as unique necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings and brooches, and also napkin rings and fringed and tasselled bookmarks. Work at your own pace with just needles, thread and predominantly tiny seed beads and use a number of bead threading and weaving techniques to make pieces of your choice selected from a large range of samples.

CRESCENT MOONS NECKLACE

A one day workshop Saturday 4th September 2010, 10.00am-4.00pm

This elegant necklace is composed of chunky individual crescents worked in three sizes of seed beads using the right-angle weave and peyote techniques of beadwork. The crescents are then linked at the top and bottom corners by seed beads and Swarovski crystals in two sizes which really add sparkle to the necklace. Make it in the colours of your choice.

BYZANTINE CUFF

A one day workshop Saturday 2nd October 2010, 10.00am-4.00pm

A wide, bold but sophisticated bracelet worked in two layers. The base is worked in seed beads in two-drop peyote stitch (not as complicated as it sounds!), and this is overlaid with an embellishing layer worked in netting in seed beads with the addition of small pearls. The handmade fastener adds an interesting extra touch. Make it in the colours of your choice.

ELIZABETHAN PENDANT

A one day workshop Saturday 6th November 2010, 10.00am-4.00pm

This dramatic and glitzy statement piece is composed of an open square worked in circuits of simple threading using seed beads, glittering Swarovski crystals in two sizes and small pearls. The neckstrap from which the square is suspended is a separate piece worked in embellished right-angle weave in seed beads with the addition of more crystals and pearls. Make it in the colours of your choice.

FESTIVE BEADWORK

A weekend residential course 5.30pm Friday 15th - 3.30pm Sunday 17th October 2010

The festive season is approaching and this weekend gives you the opportunity to prepare well in advance! Make decorations of your choice selected from a large range all with a Christmas theme to adorn your tree and table in style, Alternatively choose a piece of jewellery to make from a selection designed especially to enhance your partywear over Christmas and the New Year. All pieces are made using just needle and thread and predominantly tiny seed beads with the addition of some accent beads and Swarovski crystals in the jewellery to add plenty of sparkle. Suitable for all levels of ability.

BEADAZZLED: A WEEKEND OF BEADWORK JEWELLERY

A weekend residential course 5.30pm Friday 4th - 3.30pm Sunday 6th March 2011

A wonderfully creative and self-indulgent weekend for both the beginner to beadwork and those who already have some experience! Working with predominantly tiny seed beads and just needle and thread this is an opportunity to use and explore at your own pace some of the many techniques of bead threading and weaving to create modern and stunningly individual designs and styles of jewellery for both everyday and special occasion wear.

Spend a relaxing few days learning beadwork techniques which require predominantly only seed beads, needles and thread to create beautiful and delicate pieces of jewellery for both everyday and special occasion wear. You will be able to choose from a wide range of projects which include necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings and amulet bags and finger rings in a number of different stitches. The emphasis for these few days is on individual attention as you work at your own pace.
