Courses are held at a number of venues, and in addition I run workshops and courses for ladies’ and other groups by request. Bookings for courses at the listed venues should be made direct with them, but if you require any further information please do not hesitate to contact me.

BEADWORK JEWELLERY

Every Monday morning 10.30am - 12.30pm, every Monday afternoon 1.30pm - 3.30pm & every Friday afternoon 1.30pm - 3.30pm

Come and make stunning and individual pieces of jewellery for both everyday and special occasion wear, plus other wonderful beadwork items both for yourself and to give as gifts. No previous experience is necessary, but you are warned that beading can become extremely addictive! These classes are for the over fifties, are on-going and are £4.00 per class for members, £5.00 for non-members. To join, please telephone first to check the availability of a place.

BEADWORK ONE-DAY OPEN WORKSHOP

A one day workshop Saturday 24th March 2012, 10.00am-4.00pm

A fun day for all lovers of beads! You will work predominantly with seed beads plus needle and thread to create stunning and unusual pieces of jewellery chosen from a huge range of samples while exploring a variety of different bead threading and weaving techniques. All are welcome - beginners will quickly learn basic methods and techniques, the more experienced can move on to more challenging designs; those who attended previous courses and workshops may like to take the opportunity to complete unfinished pieces.

BEADWORK JEWELLERY FOR ALL

A four day workshop Tuesday 24th-Friday 27th July 2012, 10.00am-4.00pm

Stunningly individual and intricate two- and three-dimensional pieces of jewellery can be created from predominantly tiny seed beads of different sizes plus a few larger beads, drops and sparkling crystals, and all worked using just needles and thread. Spend an enjoyable four days working at your own speed on projects of your choice selected from a huge range of samples, and at the same time using and exploring some of the myriad fascinating and ancient threading and weaving techniques of beadwork. Suitable for all levels of ability from beginners to the more experienced.

RECTANGLES BRACELET

A one day workshop Saturday 18th February 2012, 10.00am-4.00pm

This bold statement piece is reminiscent of geometric Art Deco designs in jewellery. It is worked as individual rectangles in seed beads in peyote stitch embellished with some larger beads, and the rectangles are then linked with yet larger beads to build up the bracelet length. Make it in the colours of your choice.

STAR PENDANT

A one day workshop Saturday 17th March 2012, 10.00am-4.00pm

Intricately patterned kite-shaped segments are worked in brickstitch in several colours of seed beads. The segments are stitched together to create the star and this is then embellished with fringing incorporating some sparkling Swarovski crystals and a strap is constructed from more seed beads and crystals. Make it in the colours of your choice.

MANDALA NECKLACE

A one day workshop Saturday 14th April 2012, 10.00am-4.00pm

A rather different necklace composed of three circular mandalas are created in seed beads, each worked from the centre outwards in peyote stitch followed by netting, and embellished around the edge with sparkling Swarovski crystals. The separate neckstrap is a double strand of right-angle weave incorporating more crystals, fastening at the front with two peyote stitch toggles. Make it in the colours of your choice.

A really pretty, delicate and very feminine necklace to dress up your summer tops and dresses. It is worked using the vertical netting beadwork technique in seed beads and bugle beads to create an attractive repeating pattern of lacy spoked ovals along its length. BEADWORK SUMMER SCHOOL

A three day workshop Tuesday 7th - Thursday 9th August 2012, 10.00am-4.00pm

Spend three enjoyable days working on beadwork jewellery pieces of your choice selected from a wide range which includes necklaces, pendants, lariats, bracelets and more, all worked using mainly seed beads and just needle and thread. At the same time you will explore some of the many and varied techniques of beadwork. Work at your own pace in the colours of your choice.

RUFFLES BRACELET

A one day workshop Saturday 22nd September 2012, 10.00am-4.00pm

A fun bracelet for the young at heart! Handmade ruffled beads are created from seed beads by adding spikey fringing to a cylindrical base worked in peyote stitch. The bracelet is then assembled by alternating large glass beads with the ruffled beads and it is finished with a handmade toggle fastener in netting and peyote stitch. Make it in the colours of your choice.

A one day workshop Saturday 6th October 2012, 10.00am-4.00pm

An elegant but simple necklace composed of twelve small intricately patterned lozenges worked in four colours of seed beads in square stitch. They are linked together with multiple swags of seed beads and it is finished with a simple bead and loop fastener. Make it in the colours of your choice.

A stunningly simple but effective necklace of curvaceous motifs of different sizes worked in seed beads using the tubular herringbone technique then embellished with more seed beads in two sizes. Spend a relaxing few days creating beautiful and delicate pieces of jewellery in many styles for both everyday and special occasion wear which are worked in beadwork techniques which require predominantly only seed beads, needles and thread to work. You will be able to choose from a wide range of pieces which include necklaces, pendants, lariats, bracelets, earrings and finger rings in a range of different stitches and work at your own pace on projects of your choice with individual attention as required.

FESTIVE BEADWORK

A weekend residential course 5.30pm Friday 19th - 3.30pm Sunday 21st October 2012

The festive season is approaching and this weekend gives you the opportunity to prepare well in advance! Make decorations of your choice selected from a large range all with a Christmas theme to adorn your tree and table in style, Alternatively choose a piece of jewellery to make from a selection designed especially to enhance your partywear over Christmas and the New Year. All pieces are made using just needle and thread and predominantly tiny seed beads with the addition of some accent beads and Swarovski crystals in the jewellery to add plenty of sparkle. Suitable for all levels of ability.
