BEADWORK JEWELLERY

Every Monday morning 10.30am - 12.30pm, every Monday afternoon 1.30pm - 3.30pm & every Friday afternoon 1.30pm - 3.30pm

Come and make stunning and individual pieces of jewellery for both everyday and special occasion wear, plus other wonderful beadwork items both for yourself and to give as gifts. No previous experience is necessary, but you are warned that beading can become extremely addictive! These classes are for the over fifties, are on-going and are £3.00 per class for members, £3.50 for non-members. To join, please telephone first to check the availability of a place.

TUBULAR NECKLACE

A one day workshop Saturday 24th May 2008, 10.00am-4.00pm

Using the basic three-bead tubular netting technique and three different sizes of seed beads, create a very simple and attractive necklace ideal for everyday wear throughout the summer.

ONE DAY OPEN WORKSHOP

Thursday 12th June 2008, 10.00am-4.00pm

Working predominantly with seed beads plus needle and thread you will be able to create stunning and unusual pieces of jewellery while exploring a variety of different bead threading and weaving techniques. Everyone is welcome - beginners will quickly learn basic methods and techniques; the more experienced can move on to more challenging designs; those who attended previous courses and workshops may like to take the opportunity to complete unfinished pieces. So this workshop is suitable for all levels of ability - beginners and the more experienced.

CRYSTAL PENDANT

A one day workshop Saturday 21st June 2008, 10.00am-4.00pm

A lovely circular medallion worked in seed beads incorporating sparkling Swarovski crystals has luscious coral fringing hanging below. It is suspended on a pretty chain worked in right-angle weave.

EASTERN ECHOES NECKLACE

A one day workshop Saturday 16th August 2008, 10.00am - 4.00pm

This Eastern influenced necklace is very delicate and feminine, lovely for the last days of summer. It is worked in seed beads in netting, which is elaborately shaped and coloured to stunning effect. Make it in the colours of our choice.

BEADWORK PRINCESS NECKLACE

A one day workshop Saturday 14th June 2008, 10.00am-4.00pm

A lovely delicate necklace to wear with summer tops and dresses. It is worked in a simple netting technique using just needle and thread with seed and bugle beads. Make it in the colours of your choice.

BEADWORK RING POT

A one day workshop Saturday 20th September 2008, 10.30am - 4.30pm

To adorn your dressing table and store your rings, a tiny vessel worked throughout in herringbone weave in two sizes of seed beads. Around the top, the rim is embellished with more seed beads and glittering Swarovski crystals in two sizes. Make it in the colours of your choice.

BEADWORK ROSETTES NECKLACE

A one day workshop Sunday 23rd November 2008, 10.30am - 4.30pm

A gorgeous necklace to wear with your little black dress over Christmas and the New Year! Individual flat rosettes of graduating sizes worked in seed beads and sparkling Swarovski crystals are linked closely together to create a stunning accessory. Make it in the colours of your choice.

PERFECT PETALS & WONDERFUL WINGS: FLOWERS & BUTTERFLIES IN BEADWORK

A weekend residential course 5.30pm Friday 6th - 3.30pm Sunday 8th June 2008

Spend a delightful early summer weekend creating intricate and delicate two- and three-dimensional flowers and butterflies in beadwork which then combine as unique necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings or brooches, and also napkin rings and fringed or tasselled bookmarks. You will work at your own pace with just needles, thread and tiny seed beads and use a number of the bead threading and weaving techniques to make pieces of your choice selected from a wide range of samples.

BEADWORK SUMMER SCHOOL

A one week residential course 12.45pm Monday 14th - 2.00pm Friday 18th July 2008 (Can be booked as a shorter stay - Monday to Wednesday or Wednesday to Friday)

Spend a relaxing few days learning beadwork techniques which require predominantly only seed beads, needles and thread to create beautiful and delicate pieces of jewellery for both everyday and special occasion wear. You will be able to choose from a wide range of projects which include necklaces, pendants, bracelets, earrings and amulet bags and finger rings in a number of different stitches. The emphasis for these few days is on individual attention as you work at your own pace.
